Nissan and Sony embarked on an ambitious venture: transforming a video gamer into a podium-finishing racecar driver. To demonstrate the feasibility of this seemingly improbable feat, a multinational team of professionals from various agencies convened at Silverstone, UK, for a weeklong endeavor. The team comprised personnel from Nissan and Sony across marketing divisions globally, as well as production teams from both the US and UK, alongside experienced race instructors based in the UK. Throughout this intensive week of transformation, multiple production streams were meticulously orchestrated, with a primary focus on capturing the journey for a reality television series slated for broadcast on Speed TV. Our agency was tasked with translating this extraordinary narrative into the digital realm. Digital platforms served as the conduit bridging the virtual race cars featured in the Sony video game with their real-world counterparts from Nissan, effectively bridging the chasm between pixels and pavement. This digital integration played a pivotal role in seamlessly connecting the virtual gaming experience with the tangible excitement of motorsports, enriching the overall narrative and engaging audiences across digital platforms.
